The Mfa team shares their favorite beach escapes
July 19th 2015
While we love what NYC has to offer in the summer, we also love to escape the concrete jungle and retreat to clean salt air and ocean breezes all over the world. From the rocky coast of Maine down the east coast to Delaware and all the way to Jamaica, Mfa loves the water. Here are a few of our favorite summer shores.
Newport, Rhode Island – Home to some of the most beautiful beaches in New England, with so many water activities like sailing, surfing, and wakeboarding you rarely find anyone without a smile on their face.
Wellfleet, Massachusetts – LaCount Hollow is a magical place of tall sandy cliffs, relatively untouched landscape, and this summer, has arguably the best waves in the area. Even in the high season of July and August, you can walk just 5-10 minutes down either side of the beach and have it be your own private seaside oasis.
Ogunquit, Maine – With a three and a half mile beach with unexpectedly fine white sand, and a rocky coastline that is picturesque even in stormy weather, Ogunquit really offers the best of both worlds… as long as you’re willing to brave 55-degree water temperatures!
Doctor Cave Beach, Jamaica – According to Spencer, growing up on a tropical island is not all fun and games… Just kidding! With white sand, crystal clear water and warm sunshine, life is paradise.
Nantucket, Massachusetts – This is the perfect place for a remote beach vacation – so many beaches to choose from and tons of things to do! The best activities are kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, playing golf, and listening to live music at the brewery.
Dewey Beach, Delaware – With America’s ranked number one ocean water quality, this family fun beach is also known for its wide sandy beaches that is perfect for all sport enthusiasts.
Our shores do not end here. Throughout this summer, Mfa has kicked and splashed on the beaches of Michigan, Wisconsin, Long Island, New Jersey, Fire Island and Miami as well.
